La ciudad de al-Rastan se rebeló contra los terratenientes y contra todo tipo de ocupación, incluso el islam no habría podido irrumpir en ella Jaled Ibn al-Waled no hubiera urdido un engaño al estilo del caballo de Troya.
La Troya de la provincia de Homs fue penetrada por los tanques del ejército sirio, que la bombardeó durante días: casas, escuelas, mezquitas… Y erradicó todo atisbo de vida en la ciudad, sin tener en cuenta los Derechos Humanos.
Mujeres que recibieron los proyectiles en sus casas y perdieron a sus hijos, niños en cuyos cuerpos se alojaron las balas, jóvenes que perdieron la vida y hombres que cayeron enfermos y que sufrieron dolores corporales y psicológicos a causa de la terrible tortura, no en cárceles, sino en hospitales, concretamente, el Hospital Militar de Homs.
En la película podemos ver testimonios de cómo se ponían por objetivo y asesinaban a activistas, de cómo torturaban a los heridos en las cárceles y hospitales y también testimonios de soldados que desertaron del ejército sirio para confirmar la versión de lo que vivieron y presenciaron en Daraa e Idleb.
El funeral del teniente primero que desertó el día antes de morir, una manifestación por la tarde en su honor y el de su familia y en apoyo a Hama que estaba bajo cerco.
Una ciudad en la que se van perdiendo hombres que son despedidos en su tierra. Cada día… Hijos que tienen madres, y madres que se apagan con la pesada tristeza de la pérdida.
Pero todos, incluida la ciudad rebelde con ellos, giran y giran, buscando el sol, con paciencia, con convencimiento. No han visto ni verán ante ellos todo este salvajismo, sino que verán la luz al final del camino: la libertad.

دوار الشمس – الرستن
مدينة الرستن عصت على الاقطاع وعلى كل انواع الاحتلال، حتى الاسلام لم يستطع اقتحامها الا بخدعة من خالد بن الوليد تشابه حيلة أحصنة طروادة.
طروادة محافظة حمص، دخلها الجيش السوري بالدبابات، وقصفها لأيام، قصف بيوتها، مدارسها، جوامعها، واستباح كل تفاصيل الحياة المدنية فيها، دون مراعاة لأي حق من حقوق الانسان.
نساء تلقت القذائف في بيتها، وخسرت أبنائها، أطفال استقر الرصاص في أجسادها، وشباب رحلت عن الحياة، ورجال وقعوا فريسة لأمراض وآلام جسدية ونفسية من شدة التعذيب، ليس في السجون، بل في المشافي.. وتحديدا: مشفى حمص العسكري.
في الفيلم شهادات عن استهداف واغتيال النشطاء وتعذيب المرضى في السجون والمشافي، وشهادات لجنود انشقوا عن الجيش السوري، ليؤكدوا الرواية بما عاشوا وشاهدوا في درعا وإدلب.
جنازة لملازم أول انشق في اليوم السابق لاستشهاده، ومظاهرة مسائية تحية له ولأهله، ونصرة لحماه المحاصرة.
مدينة يُخْتَزَل منها رجالها، ويودَعُ في ترابها .. كل يوم .. أبناء لهم أمهات .. والأمهات تطفون على الحزن مثقلات بخساراتهن ..
إلا أن الكل .. والمدينة العصية معهم .. الكل يدور .. يدور .. يبحث عن شمسه، بالصبر، واليقين.
لم ولن يروا أمامهم من كل هذه الوحشية إلا النور في آخر الدرب: الحريّة.

Our Nation won’t be built upon political-pickering
Yellow will be the identifying colour of this day in reference to the political opposition and the Free Army.
Since Assad assumed power in Syria, the civil society was denied political, institutional and even civil participation as well as the ability to partake and organise itself in institutions. The Syrian people were forcibly denied from participating in decision making and expressing opinion.
In 2011 the Revolution of Dignity erupted. Her first heroes were children who wrote on walls. A revolutionary movement was started and led by youth who demanded freedom and social justice. Events moved quickly and as their demands increased the traditional opposition tried to catch up with the revolution. However they too were met with suppression and oppression or sometimes with persuasion and ideologization from the regime. The traditional opposition failed to come up with a clear political agenda that lives up to its responsibility in leading the revolution and achieving a political solution. This political flounder by the opposition, in addition to the sheer violence of the regime and its implication of the army and armed forces in killing the people, has led many soldiers to defect from the ranks of the regime’s army and form militias in the rebeling areas in an attempt to protect the civilians and peaceful demonstrations. These militias formed the core of the “Free Syrian Army” which took upon itself managing everyday life in the liberated areas alongside the revolutionary local councils. The chaos resulting from the lack of any political solution on which all parties can agree on, the spread of arms and armament, and the militarisation of the revolution gave the regime a green light from the international community to carry on relentlessly with its killing and destruction, while the world stand silently when it uses Scud missiles!
As this days passes, two years after the outbreak of the revolution with its heavy toll of destruction and wounds, the opposition parties should remember the fundamental goal and demands of the revolution. We ask them to work hand in hand with all revolutionary groups and youth movements to arrive at a political solution to end the crises; stand against the regime, its supporters, and its counterparts of radical groups alien to the revolution; to reclaim the country from Assad’s rule and return it to its rightful owners who have taken it to the streets in a Human Being’s Revolution for Life.

Blue will be used as the defining colour of this day in reference to the colour used in the UN’s logo as a reminder of its role to protect human rights and defend liberty.
The Syrian people felt betrayed. International conventions and treaties which were put in place to defend human rights were all but ignored in the face of the economic and political interests of the world’s powers. The Syrian people felt that these treaties are nothing but pieces of paper which are taken out of the drawer or hidden according to the wishes of those powers. Meanwhile, international humanitarian organisations have abandoned their true mission under political and logistic pressures to become unjustifiably silent and almost obsolete towards what is happening in Syria. The martyrs, detainees, and displaced refugees of the Syrian people have become nothing but numbers that are collected by these organisation at the end of each day, without working on any real solution or playing a significant role to stop the bloodbath and cycle of destruction.
On this day we want to send our message as human beings directly to our fellow human beings bypassing governments, politics, statements, and empty promises and condemnations. We scream out to all of humanity to move and respond to our tragedy and stand besides us as one against injustice, indignity, and cheap death, to support us in our revolution – the revolution of a human being for life.

The glorious Syrian revolution didn’t erupt all of a sudden by a magic touch. The outbreak of the Syrian revolution was the product of several preceding events that have been accumulating throughout decades of political repression by the regime of Assad the father.
The Constitution Uprising in the seventies then the events of the eighties were an expression of the people’s refusal of power monopolization by al-Assad.
The Damascus Spring and the political demands associated with it didn’t last long in the face of the regime’s oppression. It ended in 2001. استمر في القراءة ←
