April 18, 2011On the 17th of April 2011, the Assad regime forces committed a massacre in the district of Bab Al-Siba’a in the city of Homs, that claimed the lives of a dozen martyrs and sparked an overwhelmingly massive and angry reaction from the residents of the city.The very next day, after performing the funeral service and prayers for the martyrs, the mourners decided to conduct a Sit-in protest in the city center’s New-Clock square.

This day is of extreme importance, since it was the day that the first sit-in protest was held in Syria aimed at overthrowing the regime. To ensure that we commemorate the anniversary of this Sit-In, we present and show you these exclusive scenes that are being presented for the first time.

في السابع عشر من نيسان لعام 2011 قامت قوات النظام الأسديّة بارتكاب مجزرة بحيّ باب سباع بمدينة حمص، ذهب ضحيتها اثنا عشر شهيداً، مما أثار ردة فعل عارمة وغاضبة من أهالي مدينة حمص وبعد تشييع الشهداء والصلاة عليهم في اليوم التالي، قرر المشيعون الاعتصام بمركز المدينة بساحة الساحة الجديدة، ولما هذا اليوم من أهمية بالغة كونه أول اعتصام يقام بسوريا ويهدف لإسقاط النظام، وحرصاً منا على إحياء ذكرى الاعتصام نعرض لكم هذه المشاهد الحصرية والتي تعرض لأول مرة

Testimony of Activist Hadi Abdulla on Al Jazeera, speaking about the massacres committed by the Syrian Regime against civilians on 25 May 2012.

Three massacres were committed in Hawla City, and more are being committed now 76 martyrs are confirmed in Hawla alone, and more than 300 wounded.
Hawla city has been under shelling for more than 12 hours.

Shooting started at a demonstration with bullets and artillery, and the shelling has not stopped for more than 12 hours.
Hundreds of missiles hit the civilian homes, causing hundreds of them to burn.

Assad thugs (Shabeeha) supported by the security gangs attached the houses located at the edges of Hawla city, and committed field execution against the civilians, they slaughtered them with knives… most of the killed are children.

I called up to the UN monitors and begged them to come to Hawla , they promised to come tomorrow morning.
I asked the UN monitors to stop the shelling for only half an hour.

The UN monitors are sleeping now, while the massacres are being committed.

We used to count the number of martyrs, but now, we are counting the number of families slaughtered.
The whole world helps in killing the Syrians, not just the Syrian regime.

We have many martyrs and wounded that we could not reach because of the continuous shelling and the cut-off of electricity.

We are still discovering more massacres in the city.
The Syrian regime is now killing under the nose of the whole world and in the name of the UN monitors.

يطلقون على حمص أنها عاصمة الثورة، ولكن حمص اليوم مدينة أشباح في معظم أجزائها، مدينة مهجورة ومدمرة.

وعد العالم بأن يقدم المساعدة، ولكن الأمر يتطلب أكثر من بضعة مراقبين ليعيدوها إلى الحياة مرة أخرى

وصف سوريون من مدينة حمص المدمرة اللحظات المروعة التي عاشوها عندما قامت قوات الحكومة باعتقال عائلات بأكملها، وإبعاد الأطفال عن أمهاتهم ومن ثم إحراقهم وهم أحياء، حيث ورد أنه تم توقيف عائلات من حيي كرم الزيتون والعدوية الواقعين في المدينة.

وروى أحد سكان مدينة حمص، والمعروف باسم “يزن” لشبكة آفاز عن الطريقة الوحشية التي تم بها إعدام هذه العائلات:

“لقد قاموا بتسليمهم إلى قوى الأمن وميليشيات “الشبيحة” الذين بدورهم قاموا بفصل الرجال عن النساء والأطفال ثم أطلقوا النار على الرجال، وتم إحراق آخرين وهم على قيد الحياة. لقد ذبحوا الأطفال على مرأى ومسمع أمهاتهم ومن ثم قاموا باغتصاب النساء اللواتي كان بينهن بعض القاصرات”.

وقد تم العثور على جثث ما لا يقل عن 26 طفلاً و21 امرأة بين ركام المدينة، يقال بأنهم ضحايا مجزرة قامت بها قوات الأمن التابعة للحكومة.

من ناحية أخرى، تمكن بعض أعضاء المعارضة من أخذ بقايا جثث لسبع وأربعين ضحية إلى حي باب السباع. وقامت إحدى مجموعات النشطاء الإخبارية بنشر مقاطع فيديو مؤلمة للغاية على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي (الفيسبوك) ظهرت فيها جثث في مشفى ميداني.

وصرح ناشط آخر يُدعى أبو ياسر بأن “بعض الذين قُتلوا قد تم تدنيس أجسادهم بعبارات طائفية. إذ يسعى النظام بشكل يائس لإشعال صراع طائفي بين السنة والعلويين في مدينة حمص”.

من جهتها، صرحت منظمة آفاز Avaaz أنه “في غضون ذلك، قام بعض الصحفيين من المواطنين بالإبلاغ عن تواصل قصف الجيش لأحياء حمص القديمة بالهاون وأسلحة الرشاشات الثقيلة. بالإضافة إلى انتشار القناصة في كل مكان والطرقات خالية تماماً”.
